Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute, India’s newest and most advanced tertiary care facility sets yet another benchmark by launching India’s first Comprehensive Stroke Plan with a Stroke Support Group for – Stroke and Paralysis Patients – in its endeavour to provide a complete and holistic quality healthcare to all.

Dr Hastak considered starting the support group mainly for two reasons, “Doctors are good speakers, but the patient needs have to be heard and responded to in a broad way. Their physical ailments as well as the psychological impacts have to be addressed, for better treatment.” He explains, 90% of stroke patients come too late for treatment, “We wanted to create awareness amongst patients for prevention.”

Children’s Heart Center launch was held on 13th Sep 2009 at our Convention Centre. Doctors and NGO’s – a total of 400 people were in attendance. His Excellency - Mr S C Jamir Governor of Maharashtra, was the Guest of honor. It was attended by doctors from various specialties like Pediatrician, Cardiologist, Cardiac Surgeons, GP’s, CP's and NGO's. Dr Suresh Rao and his team of Surgeons introduced their work and their commitment in this area.

Novalis meet was held on 16th Aug 2009 at our Convention Centre, There were 400 doctors in attendance. Ms Priyanka Chopra was Guest of honor.It was attended by doctors from various specialties; like Neurologist, Neurosurgeons, Surgeons, CP's and 5 NGO's as well as various corporate businesses.

The event was attended by 35 intensives from nearby locality. Dr Preeta Joshi and Dr Vinay Joshi hosted this event. While Dr. K.N. Shah, an eminent Pediatrician and Neurologist, was a guest speaker. Mr Chris Torey, RRT, U.K., was present.

We hosted a Parent Awareness Lecture in Kidzee School. The event was attended by 40 parents; a lecture and presentation was given by Dr Tanu Singhal.

Parents Awareness Program was held on 4th July, 2009 at Euro Kids School. Total of 100 parents were in attendance. Speakers Dr Tanu Singhal and Dr Santanu Sen discussed topics ranging from – childs optimum nutrition, behavior, safety and protection from illnesses to child psychology

No Tobacco Day program was held on 3rd June at MMTC ltd, Bandra. Total of 60 participants attended the programme.

Speakers Dr Mandar Deshpande and Dr Sudhir Pallai spoke about Tobacco and Cancer as well as Cardiac problems due to tobacco.

Event was held on June 7th 2009 at Dr Mandke Convention Center. Total of 435 doctors attended the event. The facilities available as well as the talent at our Centre of Excellence for Oncology were highlighted. Case studies shared during lectures. The speakers spoke extensively about the importance of the availability of Super Specialist under one department and its advantage in the treatment of patients.

A CME on "Update on management of Diabetes and its complications” was held at our Convention Centre from 10.00am to 1.30pm. The event was conducted by Dr Dheeraj Kapoor and Dr Joe George - the speakers were Ms Pooja Gupta, Dr Niren Dongre, Dr Urmila Anandh, Dr Ibrahim Riza, Dr Vimal Someshwar. About 326 doctors from Mumbai attended the CME.

Trilogy meet held at our Convention Centre, total attendance was 290 including doctors, from across India and Bangladesh. Doctors from various specialties like Gynecology, Surgeons, ENT's were also present.

The event was held at our Convention Center. It was inaugurated by Dr Ram Narain, who highlighted the Full Time Specialist System (FTSS) at our hospital. There were 500 doctors in attendance. The speakers elaborated on the talent available at our Department of Gastroenterology; and shared case studies about the advantage of availability of Super specialist under one department to face any challenges in the treatment of patients.

Thyroid day was held at Celebration Club in Lokhandwala. The hospital offered free TSH testing and a Q&A with our Doctors Dr Dheeraj Kapoor and Dr Jeo George. There were180 participants in attendance.

The event was held at Bharat Sewa Ashram, Vashi. It was conducted by Jitendra Singh and SP Dang. There were 300 patients in attendance. Dr Deshpande spoke in Hindi and gist of his talk was interpreted into Bengali by Dr Kaustav Talapatra for the participants (who were mainly from the eastern region in India).

Dr Talapatra talked about role of Radiotherapy in cancer management and facilities available at the hospital. .Mr Ashok Kumar answered a lot of questions about the treatment and expense- as well as the specialist at our hospital.

We held a ‘No Tobacco Day Camp’ at our hospital where we offered free X – rays to the participants and Q&A with - Dr Sudhir Pillai, Dr Sushil Jain, Dr Mandar Despande. There were 40 participants present.
